We believe we share in the responsibility to ensure young people have an equal chance to be inspired to pursue a career in STEM. By 2022 the U.S. will be short 1 million needed STEM professionals. Too few young people, especially girls and youth of color are pursuing STEM careers. This is not only a loss for industry and the economy. Black and Latinx students pursuing STEM careers have reported they were motivated by their interest in social justice and wanted to use STEM to do good in their community or in the larger global community. |
